The BA-64, a Soviet four-wheeled armored scout car, was developed in 1941 to replace the BA-20. Known for its affordability and reliability, it became the most common Soviet wheeled armored vehicle in World War II, with over 9,000 produced. Its multi-faceted hull offered superior protection, and its high power-to-weight ratio and wheel placement ensured exceptional maneuverability. After the BTR-40's adoption, remaining BA-64s were retired and exported. They saw action in various battles, including Stalingrad, and were used by other nations like Poland and Czechoslovakia. By the 1970s, most were retired, but some remained in service with North Korea and Albania as late as 2013.
